Wrapping up our time in Fiji

Hey everyone!

We just spent our last few days in the village this week and headed out for our free travel in Nadi this past Wednesday morning. We are now spending some time at a resort in Nadi and have a very early wake up call tomorrow morning to fly out to Auckland! All of us are very excited for a change of scenery but will never forget our beautiful time in Fiji. Our experience in the village is unforgettable and I’m sure it will require hours sitting around all of our kitchen tables with family to explain it. The 2 weeks were filled with ups and downs, making saying goodbye to the village extremely bittersweet. The community project that we completed a few days before leaving ended up feeling even more rewarding than I expected. The village now has three major concrete walk ways that will be very useful when the heavy rains come. All of our names along with our group name “Hongi” is carved into the cement walk way in front of the villages church. Despite the  hot work days, eccentric meals and the unfortunate illnesses that followed, Rewasa Village holds a very special place in all of hearts. Like I said, there is much more to be told about our time in Rewasa Village. We all love and miss the people reading this back home and are thinking of you everyday wishing you were here experiencing this with us! Talk to you all soon!

Love G
