T -5 Days!

Carpe Diem staff training is in full swing here in sunny Portland and we couldn’t be more excited to meet the Walkabout group in just a few short days.  We’re busy with itineraries and maps and guide books…oh and bikes and frisbees and tea shops too…all so we can be prepared for an incredible semester.  Over the coming months this blog will be a place for the group to share their experiences and photos with family and friends, so be sure to check back often!  We can’t wait to begin our adventures together and are already daydreaming of memorable homestays, gourmet group meals, trekking NZ, and practicing the infamous Maori “haka.”  Also, get your singing voices on for the traveling choir!   But most of all we are looking forward to the physical, spiritual, and emotional transformation that the South Pacific has to offer.

Also, before we take off, we want to give a huge shout out to all of the friends and family who have made this journey possible for the Walkabout crew.  (Yes, that means you!) Having the support of friends and family back home means the world to those of us on the road, so thank you so much!  And to the Walkabout crew – Brendan, Lauren, Walker, Ben, Olivia, Joe, Jake, Hannah, Scott, Catlin, & Brad – ya’all ready for this?  See you soon!
