Bula from Headquarters!

Hey Hongi Crew, Family, and Friends!

Just over one week to go until the Hongi crew is standing on the shores of Fiji. It may seem like a world away, but the days are flying by here in Portland as all of the Carpe Diem leaders plan and prepare for our adventures.

Welcome to the blog. While we are overseas this will be our link to family and friends at home. It will be a small window into the unbelievable experiences we are having. Please pass this link along to anyone who may want to follow our journey as we explore the beauty of the South Pacific.

We can’t wait to meet each of you in the L.A airport. We’re excited to explore the unknown, build community, challenge one another and, of course, laugh with each other during the upcoming months.

Welcome to the Carpe Diem family!

P.S. Wondering why “Hongi?” Hongi is a traditional Maori greeting in New Zealand in which two people press their noses and foreheads together. Here, their “Ha” – or “breath of life” – becomes intermingled. Strangers become members of the community and people of the land.
