FIJI!!!

We have finally arrived at our first destination! Fiji, specifically Tumbakula where we are writing this. A bit warmer than home…
Almost every local has been saying “Bula” which means hello making it a very warm and friendly environment.

The amazing thing was the view once we arrived and got off of the plane. A rainbow! hovering over a few amazing palm trees in this tropical paradise.

Something funny and kind of ironic once we got onto the bus to get to Tumbakula was that Michael Jackson’s “thriller” started playing as we started driving, as if we never left home.

We rode the bus with many Fijians, all who looked happy to see us, including an extremely cute baby. On the way to Tumbakula we saw many cows walking around by themselves on the side of the road.
The first stop where some people got off the bus was a field and a park where many locals were playing the most played sport in Fiji- Rugby.

We are staying at a bungalow resort that is right off of the beach and is picturesque and exactly what you would imagine Fiji to look like! Everyone we have met so far seems down to earth and all just as eager to experience this journey with us.

For our first meal in Fiji, our bungalow resort served us pizza- which is their specialty! This morning, we had tropical island juice and pancakes while some had eggs while listening to 80’s music.

All of this was only our first day. We cant wait to see what happens next!
