AUSTRALIA, MATES!

Hey guys, it’s Blair and Rita again from AUSTRALIA! We never got a chance to recap on our few days in Sydney so here you go! We left Queenstown, New Zealand and arrived in Sydney last Thursday. We loved the opportunity to explore the city and see all of the exciting events going on. On Friday, we all took a ferry over to Cockatoo Island to check out the awesome Outpost Street Art Festival happening. The festival features tons of uprising street artists, most famously noted, Robert Banksy. Although we soon found out Triple J was a radio station and not an artist, we did get a chance to see the winner of a local contest working on some art firsthand. Some other neat places we went to in Sydney included the Botanical Gardens with fruit bats hanging above us in the trees all day, the Cathedral, the ANZAC Memorial, Occupy Movement Rally, Sydney Harbor Bridge, Luna Park, and of course the Sydney Opera House, where we watched an interesting version of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.” We ended our time in Sydney with an early two month celebration pizza dinner in downtown Sydney.
