We spent last week in Xela at a language school. I remember after our first day of class we met up afterwards and everyone was so excited! We all loved our teachers and were already learning a lot. After school we did a variety of activities. Our group did our first hike together, listened to a speaker about the revolution of ´44, enjoyed some live Guatemalan music, and took a salsa dancing class. In our down time after school you could easily find us at La Luna or another popular cafe enjoying hot chocolate or licuados (smoothies) while we journaled or did our homework. My favorite activity was the salsa class (taught by the magnificant Christian) especially because that night we got to show off our moves at a discoteca. Our group loves to dance so that night was definitely a highlight for most of us. Unfortunately all that dancing left us sore for the weekend!
