Xela Week 2

This week in Xela we continued to attend Spanish language classes. Everyone has really enjoyed getting to know their instructors. We have found that those who originally struggled are now navigating Central American culture with what can be described as, almost, skill.

Some of us continue to go to Yoga classes and find that the eccentric Kevin is our favorite instructor thus far. Though he can be a bit controversial in his methods of  motivation, we enjoy his offbeat humor thoroughly. Once, I was told that Yoga is not a spectator sport.

A group of us went to Xela´s local history museum and found it interesting to say the least. One highlight among many was a room filled with animals, such as the rare and deformed eight legged deer… what a creature.

We are feeling ready to move on to the next location, San Marcos, which has been described as the ideal spot for hippies with a purpose. Some of us are more excited for the three day trek to San Marcos than others. However, I am sure that all will excel in the end… however many expletives are muttered in the process.

Until next time,
