There Are No Words

If asked to describe these past days, this one in particular, I am not sure I would be able to respond. Today, we woke up, again, to the sounds a rooster makes at the crack of dawn. We gathered as a group for breakfast, telling stories of our nights and dreams. After our bellies were full, we started walking to a nearby village. There, we explored an open air market that happens every Tuesday. We saw bags of beans and corn, bundles of beautiful native clothing, and dogs roaming around searching for scraps of food. After the market, we continued on our journey to a waterfall. We arrived through a trail through towering banana plants with leaves as big as us. With the waterfall in sght, we were engulfed in a flood of mist. With the joy of a child on Christmas, we ran to the falls, plunging off rocks, sliding through the rapids, and sunbathing like turtles. It was surreal, the roar of water plunging down hundreds of feet, the lush forest surrounding us, and the rainbow of butterflies that danced around us and landed on our hands. To top it off we had the privledge of visiting a Mayan altar, located near the top of the waterfall in a cave on the side of a cliff.

Happy birthday, Lizza.
