T-13 Days!

Namaste and welcome to the Shiva blog!

Carpe Diem staff training is in full swing here in sunny Portland and we couldn’t be more excited to meet the Shiva group in just a few short days.  We’re busy with itineraries and maps and guide books…oh and bikes and frisbees and tea shops, too…all so we can be prepared for an incredible semester.  Over the coming months this blog will be a place for the group to share their experiences and photos with family and friends, so be sure to check back often!  We can’t wait to begin our adventures together and are already daydreaming of hilarious rickshaw rides, spiced chais and curries, trekking through the Himalayas, and practicing the infamous Indian “head-bobble.”  But most of all we are looking forward to the physical, spiritual, and emotional transformation that India has to offer.

Also, before we take off, we want to give a huge shout out to all of the friends and family who have made this journey possible for the Shiva crew.  (Yes, that means you!) Having the support of friends and family back home means the world to those of us on the road, so thank you so much!  And to the Shiva crew – Lilia, Jake, Margaret, Shayna, Graham, and Julia – ya’all ready for this?  See you soon!
