Slow down a minute…We’re on Fiji time!

Greetings from Rabulu, Fiji!

We have spent the past few weeks living, eating and sleeping in our new home and what an experience it has been! It is safe to say our group has really been put to the test of adapting to a completely different culture than the comfort of our homes in the States…With great rewards!

After a day of getting settled into our home-stays, we immediately delved into our service project which is building a sidewalk through the village. The group has found out that work in Fiji is not like work in America, as there is quite a bit of down time….which leads to amazing conversations with the locals!

We have exchanged stories, music and jokes with the villagers as we continue to strengthen our bond with this loving community. In our remaining few days, we have started planning ahead for our week of free travel in New Zealand (talk of a possible road trip, sleeping under the stars and maybe sea kayaking?) along with spending time with our families. It will be a sad but exciting day when we leave this Saturday!

As for now, mothe friends and families! Stay tuned for more updates and pictures to come in the next couple of weeks.
