See you in Fiji!

In Maori, the indigenous language of New Zealand the word Hongi literally means breathe of Life.  When you enter a Maori community you press your nose to everyone’s there, one by one, and share a breath together.  This marks the point where you are no longer strangers and visitors, but part of the land and community and obliged to take part in it.   It is with that spirit that Carpe Diem’s HONGI group is finally united and about to embark on this very special journey together (though I bet it this point they did not press their noses together!).

They are the last group this Spring to take off and we could not be more happy, proud, inspired, and excited for all that lies ahead of this traveling community.  Everyone has gathered together, they have proceeded through security, and in a few short hours they will be en route to Fiji where their journey truly begins.

Fare thee well, safe travels, and all the best to the Carpe Diem Hongi group!

Yours truly,

Drew Edwards, FANZ program director and Carpe Diem Assistant Director
