Prema

Hello all you beautiful readers out there! Last week was yet another wonderful Carpe Diem adventure, this time we hopped into our rental van with Robbie and Katelyn at the wheel and set our sights on the Daintree Rainforest for a week full of yoga, meditation, vegetarian food and the occasional tarot card reading. A typical day at Prema Shanti looked something like this, We would wake up and go to meditation at 7, where we would meet with our instructor Suzanne and have a slient meditation we would meditate for about 20 or 30 minuets, then we would go and help get ready for breaky (breakfast) and have breakfast around 8 then we would go off and do our seva (karmic yoga) which is cleaning up and volunteering around the temple for an hour. Then we has some free time to hang out. At 10 we had another mediation session but this one was normally a different type, like walking or guided. We would then break for lunch which was either at Prema Shanti or we would go out, the we had free time from after lunch until 6 to nap, read, lay in the hammocks, hang out or go for a swim the blue hole which is a beautiful natural swimming hole about a 10 minutes walk. At 6 we had out evening yoga session, this was full of many fun and interesting poses and the occasional bat flying in and out. After yoga we would have dinner, and then we had about an hour and a half until it was quiet time. A few other things we did we went to the beach 2 days and meditated or built mandalas, we went to lync-haven, a wildlife have where we watched a crocodile named Doris get fed and petted and fed kangaroos and a wallaby. All in all our time at Prema Shanti was full of uncontrollable laughter and some truly incredible memories.
