Morning market at N.H.C.C

DSCN1154DSCN1194DSCN1199DSCN1208DSCN1203DSCN1201DSCN1202I might look old because of the rusty metal, the dents on my sides and even all the dirt i’ve accumulated, but dont let that fool you, I still have plenty of early morning market trips in me. I do this each morning, they start me up and load white and blue empty water gallons. The gallons are dirty, cracked and dented but strong none the less. They load big empty bags,  all differing in color(green, blue, red) all waiting to be filled with food. Lastly the people load in the back; this morning  two extra people jump in wanting to experience this adventure.

That was me (yesi) and Karenna who tagged along with a handful of our N.H.C.C cooks in the back of a truck. It was right after our regular breakfast at 6:30 am, some of the other group members had already gone the days before coming back with funny and exciting stories. That morning was our turn and while on a bumpy ride I enjoyed watching the town roll past us, the small houses, the motercyclists with their mouth masks, the endless fields stretching for miles on end.  The palm trees looked especially mesmorizing that warm morning, the leaves reaching out to me where I could almost touch them. I would look at one of the cooks and they would smile brightly at me, I would smile back at them showing my excitement. After around 15 min we arrived to an enourmous market, small stands side by side each selling something delicious. The vendors sold meat, to live fish, and your necessary fruits and vegetables. Me and Karenna followed our clusters cook ( cluster: colored buildings in N.H.C.C indicating the childrens sleeping and eating arrangments; we were the yellow cluster) , a small lady compared to the tallest girls in the group. We followed her through a lively crowed and tight corners  collecting the days food. They have a great system, they collect the food by small amounts and gradualy take it to the big bags. Having small breaks in between where we enjoyed some apple juice and another questionable drink ( it said it was watermelon and melon or something but it tasted like water and … I cant even describe the taste) with some pineapple cut up in front of us. By the end of it we crossed the busy street where the truck was already packed with filled gallons and all the food. We got back around 10 am and I took the opportunity to take a nap. But in N.H.C.C there was always something to do and my nap was inturupted short. Windows needed to be painted.

( That was just a small adventure in the orphanage but I enjoyed it very much, each day was so amazing and I will never forget it.- yesi)
