Good day and Namaste to all of our Shanti lovelies,
We're here in Portland excitedly preparing for our India semester together. As each day passes, we're filled with more giddiness at the thought of meeting all 8 of you in just 6 short days! Amongst other activities, we've been brainstorming Carpe Diem lessons (and pranks we can play on you all throughout the course of the semester…just kidding, or are we?), gleaning team-building and orientation tips from other Overseas Educators, and strengthening our Co-Overseas Educator bond. In the little bit of free time that we have between training sessions, we've been tirelessly tracking down Portland's finest tacos, sipping on tea to warm our bodies and souls, and sharing in the good cheer that the entire Carpe team collectively brings to the table. We're sending you all good vibes as you wrap up your time at home, try to zip shut your overstuffed backpacks (may we recommend that you leave half of that stuff at home?), and cherish all that you love and will miss about your hometown, friends, and family. If you have a few minutes to spare between the aforementioned activities, you may want to brush up on your Bollywood dance move repertoire. As you'll see in the attached photos, you'll be traveling around India with two refined and world-renowned Bollywood superstars. We debated about whether or not to include these pics in this post (as we didn't want to intimidate you) but what better time than now to introduce you to our many talents? In other words, if you're nervous about getting to know the group well enough to let your true colors shine through, allow us to get that goofy ball rolling;).
Anxiously awaiting our gathering in San Francisco, and don't hesitate to reach out beforehand about anything and everything,
Lindsay and Topher, your footloose and fearless leaders
