La Escuela de la Montaña // TREKKING

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡HOLA!!!!!!!

This is Elizabeth, writing from an internet cafe in Xela. We just got back from our super intense two day trek to the Fuentes Georginas hot springs. Before that we were at the Mountain School for an amazing week of Spanish study. We all lived together and had hella adventures. We each had a host family to eat meals with and most of them were related. The food was really good but really starchy. My host mom’s name was Celestiana and she was so lovely. At the Mountain School some of us had morning classes and the rest of us had afternoon classes. Only like three and a half hours, so a little less than at PLQ which was a nice change because five hours is so long! Our Spanish is coming along great.
Then on Monday we embarked on a crazy trek! Me, Tino, Peyton, and Will were the bruised mangoes plus Alison who wasn’t too bruised, just wonderful. The bruised mango group was all a little sick or injured or both so it took us a while but we made it! And the hot springs were really cool. We had girls and guys nights last night which was some fun bonding time. We’re all hanging in there and having such an incredible trip.

In a couple hours we’re headed to the yoga farm on Lake Atitlan which is very exciting.
Okay gotta go! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxox
