Greetings,
WE’RE IN JINJA UGANDA AND LOVING IT!
We’ve been so busy for the past three days in Uganda. Last night,
after some fun orientation activities, we went into town in Jinja and
experienced our first African rainstorm. First, the thunder and
lightning came. Then, once we got there, the wind picked up and kicked
dust everywhere. Our eyes and faces were very glad when the rain
finally came and the dirt calmed down. There were massive raindrops
and it seemed that the street life stopped as everyone waited for the
rain to pass. As soon as it was over, life picked back up and we found
a spectacular Indian restaurant called Aaswad Forever. We all got a
little kick out of the name, but the food made us all quite happy.
We’re off to explore the rest of Jinja; we miss and love all of our
families and friends!
