Good day Mates!

Hello! Ana the tiger here fillin’ yer in on our week with the cva (conservation volunteer Australia). We started off by parting ways as some of us went into town in the country called Tanzey and the others went to Marriborrow. In Tanzey me, Maddie, Kailey, Andrew, and Avy all mastered the work of fencing. Here’s a haiku about it: Barbed wire fences-cowboy beauty in the fiels- but hot damn they hurt! We spent a lot of time helping the community do clean up from a flood that happened a few months ago. The other group, Emma, Brendan, Jeff, Lexi, and James, did lots of weeding and cutting tress. Apparently it was super hot and they saw snakes! Yikes! We learned a lot from doing this kind of work. One thing I especially thought was cool was what Chris, our CVA leader, told our group about how he connects with nature. He said one time he was having some kind of trouble with a former girlfriend and just as he was outside watching the sky he saw a bird making figure eights in the air. It was doing it over and over again and then he realized-that’s what he was doing in HIS life! He was repeating the same patterns and it wasn’t getting him anywhere. So that’s when he realized he had to break the cycle. So him and his gf parted ways. That story stuck out to me because he was able to connect something personal to nature in action.

So that was our week. Were in Alice Springs now and holy moley it’s hottttt! Peace out for now!

And Tom, if you’re reading this know that we miss you and we’re thankful you’re doing well!
