G’day from Alice Springs

 Hi friends and family!

This past week our group was split in half by the Conservation Volunteers Association (CVA). We both stayed at two different campsites and worked on two different projects in the Aussie Bush. My group members were Shelby, Brandon, Gracie, G, and Cheridyn. We also were so lucky to be accompanied by Chris, a CVA leader and Captain Jack Sparrow look-a-like. For our project, we worked on a wildlife reservation and planted over 500 trees. The reservation was on the property of an upscale resort called “Spicers.” After our work was complete, we were invited to the resort for tea and coffee as a thank you. We felt very underdressed to say the least. We showed up in our work boots and dirty clothes but were treated no different than the guests by the friendly staff. We got a tour of the beautiful resort and were spoiled with views of kangarros and wallabies. Overall, we really enjoyed our time together as a smaller group, but are very happy to be reunited with our other half. We are now in Alice Springs preparing for our Outback tour.

Cheers!
