From Fiji to Kiwi

IMG_1976KLTN310137830838 On behalf of my fellow walkabouters I think I can safely say that we’re going to make the best of our new group arangements and carry of with our heads high and our hopes higher. But before we move foward with our journey I want to take a minute to step back and reflect on our time spent in Vatusekiyaswa. Going into the homestay I don’t think anyone expected to form the strong bonds that we did in our short two week period. Learning a new meaning of friendship, respect and hard work from an amazing community will stay with us forever. I think a main goal between the group was to make the best possible connection with our homestays. The fourteen of us definitely exceeded our goals. There was so much talk among the grpoup about going back to visit our new found families. The end of our stay was celebrated with an all night party filled with music and memories. The same five songs were set on repaeat for a good seven hours and at the time seemed painful but looking back, I would give anything to hear those songs and dance just one more time with those poeple. The six of us still jam to those songs on the daily….we just can’t get enough. Hopefully we’ll get to reunite someday and although saying moce was hard, we wiped our tears, took off our sulus and got our minds ready for the beautiful New Zealand….and man is it BEAUTIFUL! Arriving really late into Auckland after a long day of plane rides and layovers the group was still stoked as ever. The city was awesome….between the shops, the food, the museums, the skytower, the aquarium, the light maze and so many more cool things I cant choose my favorite. A long day of travels was completely fine because the views that came along with it were to die for. Now at the Blue Mountain Adventure Centre we’re doing adrenaline pumping adventure sports that can be scary at moments but we’re facing our fears. Our BMAC staff extraordinaire Bevin is answering all our crazy questions about NZ and teaching us all we need to know about high ropes, white water rafting, repeling, and even sheep! Stay tuned for more accounts on this breath taking expierence from FANZ Walkabout 2013!
