G’day family and friends! So far our stay in Australia has been grand. Our first stop was Adelaide where a member of the group was temporarily lost after falling asleep on the bus. But don’t worry, he made good use of by getting to know the city ahead of time. We spent the next two days exploring Adelaide, then we headed off to the Conservation Volunteers of Australia headquarters where we were briefed on the type of work we would be doing. After the induction, we packed our bags into the van and went to Brookfield National Park. The hot sun was bearing down on us when we stepped out of the van, claimed our rooms, and got ready for the week. Our experience consisted of surveying wombat burrows (warrens) and shoveling gravel to repair dirt roads throughout the park. I think it’s safe to say we got the most out of our stay at CVA. We are currently in Adelaide again and are preparing ourselves for the long train ride up to Alice Springs where we will be getting dirty down under in the outback. We will be sure to keep you posted on our adventures! Cheers!
