Amritsar and Udaipur

After the trek we quickly came back to civilization. We had a long travel day to Amritsar where we stayed for two days. We explored around the Golden Temple and visited it. We had some bougie Kulfi (indian ice cream) in chocolate, almond, rose and pistachio and mango flavors and a delicious dinner. The next morning we tried to bring our bags to spend the night at the Golden Temple, but there ended up being an infestation of bed bugs so we headed back to the hostel. We then went to the Partition Museum. It’s hard to believe how people were willing to commit such atrocities in all sides, including the British. We then went to the Golden Temple to volunteer and eat dinner. We either peeled garlic or cut potatoes for two hours. We got to talk to many different volunteers.

The next morning we headed off to Udaipur. We have really enjoyed it here. We toured the Palace, saw traditional Indian dance and took a romantic boat ride on lake Pichola. We only have 2 weeks left and are taking advantage of every moment, including the Indian thanksgiving meal we made last Night with garlic mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans and chili, which were all crowd pleasers. We are thankful for this opportunity and all of our supporters.

We are now off to Jhadol for homestays.
