It’s day three on the Sentry Hill organic farm in New Zealand and we’ve been up to just about everything. Tom and P.J. have taught us how to herd flock, milk cows, feed chickens and pigs, thistle grub, plant crops, sheer sheep, and cook for 19 people three times a day! However today held a special suprise for the Hongi students; Pet Day! We accompanied Tom and P.J’s kids, Ben, George and Rosie to school along with Ginger and Petit Noir (two baby calves), Holly and Ruby (working farm dogs), and 4 baby chicks. The animals were parraded around and judged on everything from obidience skills to “best led” to “best costume”. There was also a barbeque, cake auction and book fair. The weather was ideal for today, blue skies, hot sun and you could see the mountains in distance perfectly. Another amazing day in New Zealand!
