Joseph and Byran Learning to Salsa
Today marks our last day in Cuzco. We have spent the past week in Spanish classes, which included various museum visits, cooking night, salsa lessons, and a visit to the black market.
Cuzco has to be my favorite city thus far. It has an air of beautiful decay. Many of the buildings are of old european stone and ceramic tile roofs, obviously incredibly beautiful in their day, but have since grown a bit old and staine. The cobblestone streets are narrow and full of Peruvian cafes, tourist agencies, and little shops. I´ve enjoyed going on long, aimless walks through the streets, occasionally stopping to buy some pan or sit in a plaza.
Tomorrow, we embark on our week of student directed travel in the Sacred Valley. We have been busy booking hostels, finding transportation, and researching the ancient Pisac Ruins and hot baths. Wish us luck!
Love, Jackie
