Hola Nicaragua!

Hi there people we love! Hola from Nicaragua!!! We are all SO excited to be continuing our adventure  in a brand new country, especially one as intriguing as Nicaragua.  On Monday, we arrived at the airport in Managua, Nicaragua and then took a bus to the big city off Leon, where we are doing our very last week of spanish school. We have school weekday mornings from 8-12, and after school, unlike many of the other places we have travelled, we dont have very many organized group activities, so we have had tons of time to research, discuss, and plan our week of free travel! We are very excited to say that our week of free travel will be spent partially in the a cloud forest region of Costa Rica called Monte Verde, and partially in Costa Rica{s coastal town of Montezuma! In Monte Verde we will have opportunities to zip-line through the trees and hike in the forests. In Montezuma there are opportunities for surfing, snorkeling, hiking, biking, and swimming in the waterfalls around the area, and of course a little time for reading and napping on the beach 🙂 Both seem like beautiful, incredible places so free travel is going to be beyond amazing.

We have however still had a few group activities this week that we very fun. On Wednesday we were able to go to the movie theatre and see the new James Bond movie! And on friday night we were invited to a music performance where musicians from all over Leon came to share their talents. There were quite a few singers and several incredible guitar players.  Today was the best activity off all in which we experienced a little taste of paradise. We took the (crazy) public bus to the beach which is about 20 or so miles from the Leon! It was so nice to swim in the ocean and lay in the sun. A few in the group(Jesse and Melinda) even went surfing! It was a very happy, sunshiny day 🙂 We really are having the trip of a lifetime.

love to all, peace to all,

Rachel
