Sa wat dii kha!

We are now back in Chiang Mai about to leave for Pun Pun to volunteer on an organic farm for a week. The past week has been amazing! We’ve been living with the hill tribe people in the Jafu-Jaka village. We made a 15 mile hike to arrive at this beautiful remote village. We found ourselves trekking on dirt roads, through lush green forests, and climbing steep mountains. The views were breath taking and made us felt like we were on top of the world. The village consisted of about 25 people and a few small bamboo buildings on stilts. Pigs, dogs, and chickens ran around and made the village a little hectic. Sleeping was difficult due to the yells and squeals of all the animals not to mention the hard bamboo floor. We we’re always exhausted and hungry! Our work consisted of cutting bamboo with machetes and carrying them down to the truck. Some of us got relief from lifting the heavy bamboo while sitting on top of the bamboo poles in the bed of the truck. The second day of work we began tying the bamboo to make floors and cutting bamboo to make walls. Our hard work was much appreciated by the villagers. Before we left they all blessed us with white string bracelets. On the hike back down the group was surprised by elephant rides!

Shout outs from Ryan saying he loves his mom and Derek gives a shout out to the 206!!
