Hello from La Escuela De La Montana! Today is our last day in this paradise. This week has been spent learning in bungalows and eating with local Guatemalan families from the quaint surrounding village. Here we have learned much about the culture and history of the people in these small communities. From playing cards with our host children to studying in hammocks we have spent this week in a relaxing and beneficial environment. Through various trips to the neighboring cities we have learned how to navigate and travel independently and efficently. From packed chicken buses to riding in truck beds we have managed to adapt to the hustling transportation methods of Guatemala. Here in the mountains we continue to grow as a group and strengthen our bond. From daily group games and outings we continue to grow closer and fonder of each other. From Caminatas to Carmen and empanada class we have gained knowlegde of the beautiful lifestyle that surrounds us. Now we are off to Pasaq to further that knowledge in an indigenous Mayan community.
