The journey begins…

Habari Gani!?
Jonathan and Brooke here from Nkula 2015! The last week has seen all the Carpe Diem Overseas Educators gathered in Portland for the annual Fall Training. We have been busy preparing for the incredible semester ahead, and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our East Africa students!

We feel recharged after spending three nights camping at the serene Trillium Lake campground, at the base of Mt. Hood. While there, the entire Carpe Diem crew prepared our minds and bodies for the learning that lies ahead of us. We reflected on issues ranging from how best to support student learning while on semester, to the perspective of our in-country project hosts. Needless to say we learned a great deal, and had an amazing time!

Get Ready Nkula! We are about to embark a journey of a lifetime.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”.
