We would like to thank every one who donated to our Fiji cyclone relief effort! Over the course of 3 days our group delivered rice, flour, lentils and other essentials to 4 villages who suffered greatly in the aftermath of Cyclone Winston. The devastation was much larger than we could have expected, (our own village Nananu lost 42 houses) but the gratitude and generosity of the people we encountered was just as powerful. We were so happy to give back to these communities that have hosted Carpe Diem groups in the past, and we couldn’t have done it without all of your help and support! As it transpires, the timing was especially important, due to the flooding that has just hit these villages in the past few weeks. Many villages’ road access was cut off from the flooding, and so the food we delivered earlier must have been extremely helpful to those in need, and we had some relief in knowing that every single family of those villages that we visited had enough to eat. We are all so grateful for your support! vinaka!
