Tashi Delek,
Happy Thanksgiving in Tibetan is a little complicated, so we thought we’d settle for hello. Shanti Group has found respite in the hills, a welcomed break from the chaos, pollution, dust, stares, and smells of the plains. After a week at Deer Park Insitute studying Buddhism, we’ve moved on to McLeod Ganj, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in-exile. Right now as we type we are bundled up. It’s chilly and dark, but the stars and the moon are out. And all of your sons and daughters are cozied up inside with their Tibetan family home-stays, undoubtedly eating some delicious Tibetan dish on a short table, in a small room, surrounded by wonderful (and fascinating) people and photos of the Dalai Lama. We’ll leave the details to the students. But in the meantime we wanted to say Tashi Delek (hello), let you know that we are all well, and share some of our highlights from the trip thus far. It’s been an amazing journey with amazing people. Thanks for sharing them with us,
Dan & Greta
