Greetings soon to be ITZA family!! Noah and Julia here, your fearless leaders who spent a beautiful crystal clear hot Portland day traversing across the city on an epic scavenger hunt to gear up for our trip and discover many little treasures that the city of roses has to offer!
Today, we sampled the scrumptious savors of food carts (Julia climbed inside one), Noah serenaded his lovely co-leader with a song on the guitar in a local music shop, we read passages from our favorite books to each other at Powells (the most incredible bookstore of all time), found some crazy costumes in a thrift store, broke out some wicked partner yoga in the park and Noah started an epic banjo dance party in a downtown plaza.
Settling down in the comfort of some shady grass, we discussed our upcoming adventure and began to really gear up for the adventure ahead.
The two of us are spending two weeks together in sunny and beautiful 90 degree Portland for leader training, where we are having the amazing opportunity to meet leaders for all upcoming Carpe Diem trips all over the world. This incredible training is allowing us to learn more about Carpe Diem and this magical journey on which we are about to embark.
In case you have any questions or concerns for the upcoming trip, please feel free to contact us. This will be an important travel and service experience for you, and we want you to come as prepared as possible: physically, mentally, and emotionally. Just shoot us an e-mail if you have any questions. And if all you want to do is say hi or get to know us better, go right ahead–we’d love to hear from you!
We can’t wait to meet all of you and begin our journey into the heart of Central America!
Con carino,
Julia and Noah
