Hola Team Quetzal Students, Families and Friends!!
It has been wonderful getting to chat with all of you over the past few weeks, our excitement for the upcoming semester is through the roof! From our brief conversations, it seems we have a really strong group, with all of you ready to bring your own passions and strengths to our new community. We are in the midst of staff training in Portland and have been working hard to prepare for our adventure ahead and are sure that you all have been preparing in your own way for this journey in your own ways. We want to encourage all of you to reach out to us, or the Carpe Diem main office, if you have any last minute questions that come up over the weekend. We know packing everything you will need for the next 3 months into a backpack can be a fun, but daunting task! We are here to help!
Thinking ahead to our long travel night to Nicaragua, it might be a good idea to pack some extra snacks in your bag, make sure you have a good book or two handy, and maybe a Spanish phrasebook to start practicing! We will be at the Avianca ticket counter before the 9:00pm meet-up time and will be on the look out for you all.
Take a deep breath. Smile. Hug your family! Enjoy your last few days at home. Soon we will be embarking upon an incredible adventure with a new family. We are so glad you chose to come with us and we can’t wait to actually meet you all next week.
Hasta pronto!!
