Hello everyone, its Nick here sending everyone greetings from National Park. Last Saturday we arrived in Haukes Bay after an 8 hour bus ride from Auckland. As we arrived at the farm we were greeted by the wonderful family of PJ and Tom and their children George,Ben,and Rosie. We were fed a wonderful homecooked meal and then we learned that we would be taking on different farming and housing duties each day. Our jobs ranged from cooking and cleaning in the house to having the early farm shift which began at 6 which consisted of milking cows, feeding cows and pigs to other such jobs on the farm. On one of the days the brave Beans and Arthur volunteered to take part in the trecherous horning of a large amounts of cows. During are down time we would play an array of card and board games. On Kiwi Movie night we were introduced to the corky but funny movie Boy which brought giggles to everyone in the group. We were fed like Royalty pretty much every meal. We would have milk straight out of the cow and the kithcen crew would cook a wonderful meal without fail.On Friday night for are going away feast we were fed a Roasted Pork which we saw get slaughtered right before are very eyes a few days before hand. We then had a farewell circle where we gave the family their homestay gifts and are gratitudes. Yesterday morning we ended our week of Woofing with our very congenial family and taking in and participating on farm life in Haukes bay. At the bus stop we said are good byes and took a bus to National Park where spent last night at National Park backpackers, a quaint lodge. We are now getting ready for another adventure at the Blue Mountain Adventure center which will arrive at tonight and proceed to stay for five nights.
To all the followers out there peace and thank you for reading,
