Hi friends and family of the Nkula crew,
I’ve heard from the Overseas Educators that orientation in Entebbe was fantastic! All of the students have been getting to learn a lot about each other as well as spend time discovering the sights and sounds of Uganda.
They have so far spent time at their backpacker’s hostel learning about the program, about cultural “do’s and don’ts,” creating group agreements, and playing on the slackline.
They also went on a scavenger hunt in Entebbe – unfortunately it sounds like the local internet cafes weren’t working as well as they’d hoped, so the student blogs will have to wait until next time.
Currently the group is on their way to a Rhino conservation sanctuary where they will have limited access to internet for the next 5 days. Fortunately, the leaders sent along a couple of great photos. One is of some of the students in the backyard of the hostel playing on the slackline; the other is of the group in a “dala dala” (local mini-van) on their way to the rhino sanctuary.
Enjoy the photos and, as always, thanks for the ongoing support as the crew journeys on!
