We received this sweet handwritten update from the Nkula crew along with a few fantastic photos. After their orientation in Entebbe, they headed to the Rhino Conservation Center where they are learning all about conservation and biology in East Africa. The reports are that the crew is all healthy and happy and loving their time!
In case you have trouble reading the handwriting or the picture, here’s a transcription:
Greetings from Ziwa Rhino Preserve in Central Uganda!
We may have only been in Uganda for a matter of days but it feels as though we’ve been here for months already.
We landed in Entebbe late Thursday night and spent the following days aquatinting ourselves with this beautiful country, our wonderful group, and this exciting program. Entebbe was greatly enjoyed by all. Although large, the city is mellow and friendly. We had a lot of time to explore on our own and experience everything from the shores of Lake Victoria to eating cow intestines (thanks Max and Rory!) to participating in a local church service to enjoying the dozens of delicious, unknown-to-mzungu fruits of East Africa.
Through these experiences we have all developed friendships among the group. Stay tuned for more exciting stories to come!
