Hola Friends and Family- Last week we all arrived safetly in Nicaragua after a long and tiring day of traveling. We were quickly greeted at the airport by Rolando, the director of our new spanish school. After a 2 hr bus ride into Leon we were dropped off in pairs for our new and final homestays! The next day we jumped right into school, half the group in the mornings and the rest in the afternoon. Although this schedule kept us a little seperated through the week we unanimously agreed that it was our favorite/most helpful school of the whole trip. So we´ll all be fluent and ready to “habla español todo los dias cuando regresamos”(speak spanish every day when we return). The city of Leon itself was amazingly beautiful with its friendly people and their relaxed mentallity, rich history and hot sunshine. We were also lucky enough to be in town for the Presidential elections held on th 6th. It was an amazing thing to be able to witness: the parades, fireworks, banners, celebrations, etc. Quite the spectacle! After such an enjoyable week the group is pretty reluctant to head off. However, all the we´ll miss our new families here were excited to start free travel and begin yet another chapter in our journey here in Central America. Here hoping the best for everyones families back home and mucho amor -Rachel and Robbie
