The Carpe Diem Africa Group has spent the week volunteering at
Mufindi Children’s Village. The activities the group participated in
were building a playground with materials we gathered from the area.
We cut down some heavy trees and carried them approximately three
hundred yards to the work site. We volunteered at the care and
treatment clinic that supports people living with HIV or AIDS. It was
about a four mile hike each way that showed us just how far some of
these health affected people have to walk. We also got to shadow home
visits in people’s houses. Today the group got to do service with the
kids and visit elders in the village helping them with house chores.
The group has been working tirelessly helping out this amazing
organization in rural Tanzania. It is a beautiful place made up of
rolling hills, towering trees, and many smiling faces!!!!!
The group is now in Njombe town, enjoying town life, missing Mufindi,
and ready for our time with OHANA AMANI! More to come and we promise
to try and post pictures soon.
All the best,
Tim and Team Africa
