Lindsay and Topher here, checking in from Ho Chi Minh city, all by our lonesome after seeing our group of lovelies off at the airport this afternoon. Tears were shed, a final dice game was played, laughter was shared, and Topher serenaded us one last time before the plane to Hong Kong boarded. As Shannon mentioned in her last post, we spent a paradisaical last week together on Vietnam’s coast, swimming with the fishies amidst coral that can only be described as whimsical and otherwordly. After scuba-ing to our hearts desire, we relished in our final moments as a group, catching every sunset we could, drinking the island out of mango smoothies, and forming nightly cuddle puddles to reminisce on all that we’ve been fortunate enough to experience together over the last three months. On our final night, we had a closing ceremony to reflect upon how we’ve grown as individuals and as a group, making sure to honor each person’s unique role in shaping the trip into all that it was. Not a day passed over the course of this semester when the two of us didn’t feel privileged to be leading and learning from this dynamic, hysterical, and compassionate group of individuals. Although it elates us to envision them spending the holidays with their loved ones, we were incredibly sad to see them go. We look forward to keeping in contact with each and every one of them, and living vicariously through them as they plan and execute their next adventures. Much love from us to all who helped make this semester so memorable.
Until we meet again,
Lindsay and Topher
