Its been a crazy but amazing two weeks diving further into our adventure and deepening our relationships with each other. We’ve been humbly hosted by two lovely people known as Yvette and Manaia of Koukourarata community in their beautiful historically rich maraes. Waking up to such a breathtaking view is something none of us will ever forget. We then stayed 3 nights in a revamped schoolhouse in the are of Le Bons Bay. Again our hosts were so kind and full of knowledge of the land, sharing with us and allowing us to help them with their goals towards conservation. We’ve gotten reasonably better at cooking for 14 people every meal and accommodating to everyones needs and abilities. This week we’re up to the biggest ‘pushing of the comfort zone’ yet. We’re about to embark on a 5 day “tramp” (New Zealands word for trekking and camping) through the Abel Tasman National Park! We just finished some group building exercises about trust, acceptance and comfort. Although a bit scared, we’re excited for this coming journey. . We hope to have twice as many (maybe?) next time!! From each and every one of us, we love you and will see you on the other side! (: – Hannah
