Hola friends and family!
On Tuesday we said goodbye to Leon and headed south to Playa Maderas in San Juan del Sur. We were all really excited to spend our first actual week on the ocean, and this past week has been everything we have wanted and more! We are living with a good friend of Carpe Diem´s (Tyler) in his beautiful home overlooking the ocean. The first couple of days we were here our volunteer project had not started yet, therefore we had two days on the beach to soak up the sun, surf, and watch the beautiful pacific sunsets! We have been also eating very, very well as Tyler is an amazing chef. We are working with an organization called Communidad Connect doing a couple of different projects. Yesterday we visited the school we will be working with and created lesson plans for the classes we will be teaching this upcoming Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We will also be laying pipes on Monday to help provide a more efficient water source for the school, as they don´t have running water at this time. Today we came into the beach town of San Juan del Sur and helped an organization called Diakachimba with beach clean-up. We collected over 390 pounds of trash with people from different parts of the world. We also got the afternoon free in San Juan to get some lunch, send out some emails, and do some shopping! We are all excited that we will be celebrating Thanksgiving together on Wednesday night, our last night in Playa Maderas. Tyler will be cooking our meal for us which will include all traditional Thanksgiving food! We wish you all an amazing Thanksgiving and will be thinking of our families on that day.
