We have spent the last week at Pono grown weeding, planting, and harvesting. At Pono Grown, we have had the opportunity to work with Evan, the owner of the property, and the interns who are also living on the farm as well. The interns are really cool! Its so fun to learn from them and talk about all our different lives.

Our Top Three Highlights of the Week:

🗻 The Haleakala hike!

🕺🏽 After dinner dance parties.

🌱 Taking part in harvest day.

🏋🏾 Losing in kickball to the Pono Grown crew.

But transformation always comes with opportunities for growth: What were our main challenges this week?

The hike was a challenge that the group took on together and it was very rewarding at the end. Some people were nervous by the altitude and the daunting mileage but we all CRUSHED ITTTTTT!!!!! We are superstars. It was especially awesomesauce to be hiking above the clouds the whole time 🙂

What we’re grateful for this week:

This week we are most grateful for the hike at Haleakala because the views were amazing. We are also grateful for the group being able to come together despite the challenges along the way. We also reached as new high as a group! We are just super thankful for our group and leaders, some of us had a tough week this week yet we still somehow seemed to have the most fun because we were all there for each other. 🙂 Lots of hugs this week.

P.S.: Shout out Adam (the man behind the curtain/man in charge) for coming and hanging out with us!! He is cool. Just so you all know the man in charge of this whole thing is a good dude. Hawaii program seal of approval.

Until next time! ❤️ Spring 2023 Hawai’i Semester
