We arrived at our new campsite at Whispering Winds, a bamboo farm where we got the opportunity to volunteer with River. We also were lucky enough to get a tour from Rich who taught us all about bamboo and the process of growing and preserving it!

Our Top Three Highlights of the Week:

🗻 We took a long winding road to Hana where we got to see the beautiful views of Hawaii and saw the cars whooshing past on the one-lane highway!

🐚 We got to see the Black sand beach in Hana and do a little bit of beginners rock climbing to fully enjoy the views.

🌋 Bloop, bloop, bloop, we ventured through the lava tubes, where we got to see stalagmites and stalactites with “gold” at the top!!

But transformation always comes with opportunities for growth: What were our main challenges this week?

At our new campsite we’ve encountered a lot of constant rain and wind and have had to improvise with our cooking methods, sleeping areas, and relaxing spaces.

What’s coming up next week:

We’re all very excited to hike Haleakala next week! we’ve been doing smaller but equally as beautiful hikes to prepare for it.
