Yasus Terra Crew and family and friends who will be following us on this journey! This is Adam and Rachael your OE’s writing from training in Portland, Oregon. On this blog from here on out you will be hearing directly from students about our adventures and their experiences!
This week we have been enjoying seeing old Carpe friends, getting out and about in chilly Portland, and getting our heads in the game for this trip! We are so excited to get to know all of you.
We look forward to venturing into new languages and cultures, to exploring wilderness environments and connecting with nature, participating in traditional food production and agricultural practices, cooking delicious meals together, trekking through Tuscany, and getting our hands dirty learning about permaculture and sustainability. We will share many laughs, many meals, deep conversations, and early mornings.
As you gather your things for this journey and take them in and out of your backpack; which shoes will serve me best? What might be better to leave behind? What things do I really value having with me? We hope this physical process serves you to prepare mentally, spiritually, and emotionally as well. Maybe consider these questions metaphorically. How are you preparing yourself for a challenging, eye opening, mind-blowing, sometimes exhausting adventure? How are you feeling?
Enjoy these last days with your loved ones! We wish for you some deep rest, relaxation, nourishing and connected experiences so you can arrive with a full tank. We can’t wait to share this trip with you! Sending you all good energy and peace from Portland!
Your Terra OEs,
Rachael & Adam
