After spending a week on the island of Crete, we said goodbye to our wonderful hosts and locals we met along the way. On Wednesday, our group landed in Athens, Greece, and had a chance to explore our city.

Over this past week we have had many great opportunities, learning the basics of the Greek language, including a traditional Greek dance class, swimming in the crystal clear water of the Mediterranean sea, and the amazing food Christina and her family had prepared for us. But our personal favorites, were the pottery classes, getting toured around the Minoan palace ruins, and most of all, our first night in Athens where we watched the classic “Roman Holiday” in the local outdoor theatre. 🇬🇷🏺

Growth comes with challenge – what are some of the challenges you’ve overcome this week?

This week we have faced challenges, like adjusting to time differences, schedules, and most of all being away from friends and family. As we enter into our second week abroad, the group has gotten much closer, and has adjusted to life on the move. Everyone has been in support of one another, and made sure needs are met.

Anything else to report?

As a group we have been faced with many different challenges but have overcome them all and grown both as people and a group. We have all stepped out of our comfort zones and done things we have never done before. Everyone has kept an open mind and a smile on their face. It has helped that we have a supportive group and have all been there for each other.
