Cusco: the city of many steps.

Hola mi famila y amigos. this has been one fun rest period (relatively speaking)  from working everyday. As Megan has said we have safely returned from the jungle.  On Wednesday after we reached our hotel, after picking up our things from John’s and then dropping off our laundry many of us became reacquainted with a computer and or our beds in our hostel,  I know I did.  Thursday was our day of rest and time to get use to the elevation as well as any needed shopping. Dinner for some included a jaunt down the Avenue del Sol for some delicious skewered meat and potato followed by for all but me picarons (fried bread). Friday our fearless captain, Helen, roused us all from our very comfy beds for a short trip to see Moray and the natural salt mines near by. afterwards we scattered off to do our own things. Saturday was a jam backed day. For most of us we headed to Pisac to attempt to climb a trail. Unfortunately we found out fairly quickly that we would need to pay 70 soles per person. Instead we did some looking around and came across a concrete water channel which we followed until it ended at a river. After a short break many decided to head back to Cusco to help with the Thanksgiving dinner that was being cooked by our resident food enthusiast, Celcila, along with other things. while for of us decided to head abit more up river.

Chou for now,

Elta
