Bula bula friends and family of the Carpe Diem Hongi group. This last week in Fiji has been a great one! As we got over our culture shock, we were back making an impact in the village after a much needed family day on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday we split into two groups. Group one went to the local school to start a painting of the world map that would later be completed by the second group. While the first group was busy getting their Piccaso on, the second group continued constructing the village footpaths. On Wednesday we got a rest from manual labor and hopped on a bus just down the road to the Fiji Water factory. After a refreshing break from work, it was back to the fields of Nananu where we trimmed weeds in the cemetery and painted graves. The past two weeks have been a blast.
This morning we left our families and friends for two weeks as we made our way to a hostel on the beach just outside of Nadi. I would love to elaborate more but it’s time to relax on the beach before heading to Australia tomorrow. Peace and love, Eric S.
