Bula vinka-or a warm hello- from Brad, Brendan, and Lauren! We arrived in Nadi, Fiji on the 14th after crossing the international dateline. After a 2 hour bus ride through the country, the Walkabout group arrived at Mango Bay Resort. It is beautiful and located right on a little inlet overlooking the crystal blue ocean. Over the past two days we have gotten to know everyone in our group- Brendan, Brad, Hannah, Olivia, Catherine, Ben, Joe, Walker, Scott, Jake, and Lauren, as well as our leaders Brooke and Grant! Our team gets along really well and we are all excited to begin this long three month journey. Our time is spent having cultural language lessons from Oni- a staff member at Mango Bay- as well as many orientation related fun activities. We enjoy a dip in the clear, refreshing ocean and play volleyball in the pool. Some of us pick up hermit crabs on the beach. We sleep in a a bungalow with 8 bunkbeds and our bathroom is right down the path. The food is delicious and the people are kind. We are blogging this at an internet cafe in a bustling market place.
