So this is kind of a rap so bare with me, it’ll be a little awkward reading it through typing.
Happiness is the goalll,
and suffering is a prison
There ain’t no guards on patrolll,
and the keys lie with wisdom
Our minds are outta controolll,
and the remedy is Buddhism.
If we stop thinking and listen
we might find nothings missin’
No senseless hate, anger or killin’
Just compassion and kissin’
A New found passion for livin’
Now all you men and women,
Uncles cousins and children
Please see, we aren’t the slightest bit different
Enlightenment is easy, but it’s taken not given
The pathway is written and is ready and willin’
You don’t need to be a monk
draped up in red and gold linen.
But I do NOT suggest,
challenging one in badmitton.
(Shout out Olivia Free, you could say I’m “chillinchillin”)
So let it out with a laugh
or a nice bubble bath
Forget the future and past
Let negative thoughts come and pass,
Because nothing in this world will permanently last.
And that’s the truth.
I know, I know, it’s not easy to let loose,
But try, and give jealousy, attachment, irritation and anger the boot.
These are just a few things I learned this past week,
at Chenrezig Institude.

So this past week we all did our best to change our thought process and learn to see love in everything we do at this Buddhist retreat where we received teachings from wise nuns and their head “Geshe” (teacher/buddhist master) and I really wasn’t kidding, this dude is unbelievable at badmitton. WAXED us 1 vs 3. at 46… But the experience was incredible and I consider myself lucky to have had that experience at such a young age and I plan to utilise everything we’ve learned and encorporate it into every daily activity. We’re in Brisbane right now, big city. And to all concerned followers, we were not present when the big storm came through and knocked some trees down so we’re all safe and sound. But it was awesome to watch from atop the hill at the monastery.
Positivity and comPassion,
Sam Wuest and all the other great human beings residing within the FANZ walkabout group. Thanks for reading.
