This week we found our way to Venice. Before leaving, we learned a bit about climate change and how this has been affecting the city. This trip was entirely student planned, from the transportation to the activities. We took a ferry to Murano, spending some time walking around checking out the glassblowing before hopping on the ferry back to Venice proper. Breaking into groups for a little bit we were very touristy, seeing sights such as the Piazza San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Rialto Bridge. Meeting back up, we got to the main event: GONDOLAS! Seeing Venice from the water was totally surreal, especially at sunset. Seeing all the damage caused by flooding really made you think about the effects of climate change on the people of Venice. Before heading back to Bologna we kept up our incredibly important streak of eating gelato every day.
Ciao!
