I arrived in Bolivia almost three months ago and the time has flown by as this coming week will be my last week at my NGO Proyecto Horizonte. Proyecto Horizonte is an organization outside Cochabamba in a very rural area called Ushpa-Ushpa, they have many different running projects from a health center to after school programs. Before I came to Bolivia I had no interest in volunteering with kids but my first week when I was being shown around I decided to stay with the daycare for children two and under for the afternoon to see what they did and I ended up staying there. Along with working in the daycare I also work in the marketing department writing about Proyecto Horizonte's programs for a donation app (onetoday download it on the app store!) and revising documents. My two jobs are very different, half the time taking care of drooling toddlers and the other half doing work that requires me to use my brain, though they are completely different I love them both. While my days are busy I have weekends off which I am able to travel to different places in Bolivia and one weekend I even made it down to Chile for a small beach trip. I am so fortunate for having this experience I have learned so many new things, seen some of the world's wonders, tried many different foods (not all went very well), made friends with people from all over the world, and so much more; this time of my life will be something I treasure forever.
