Hey all,
This is Karen and Paige writing to you from an internet cafe somewhere in Chiang Mai. Where? We’re not exactly certain, but we have a map so we’re not lost. We’re having an explore of the city this afternoon. Our leaders judged us ready to release us into the world, armed with with a list of things to find and do. As we have roamed a bit of the streets, we’ve noticed how comfortable we are in our surroundings.
OH HEY GUYS IT’S SARAH/BROOK AND PATRICK/KOMODO!!! We’re in an internet cafe in Chiang Mai too, WHAT A COINCIDENCE?! It’s 12:14 here, and did I mention we’re in Thailand???? It’s pretty hot here, but we’re enjoying it. The food is delicious, we’ve been devouring mango sticky rice everywhere we go, as well as the traditional Thai cuisine of Pad Thai and some delicious local jack fruits. It took us 40 hours to travel here, but it was alright because we all bonded on the plane. Currently, two local Thai boys are screaming at their computer screen as they play League of Legends, a popular computer game here, and in the U.S. It’s quite entertaining. Last night, we went to the Saturday Night Chiang Mai market, (which was amazing!!!!) some of us bought the Thai elephant pants that we’ve been pining for with our newly developed haggling skills. Patrick attempted to buy a 160 bhat shirt for 80 bhat, and was getting super stressed out about the haggling, until he suddenly realized 160 bhat is equivalent to 6 US dollars, a fair and cheap price for a t-shirt! After exploring the incredible market last night, we returned to our hostal “Mojito Gardens”, and passed out in our surprisingly comfortable beds. This morning, some of us woke up at 7:30 for a nice yoga sesh. How lucky are we to have two yoga masters as our leaders?! #amirightoramiright? #patrickisaskingwhyihashtaggedthat #hashtag. We must continue with our scavenger hunt if we want to win this thing, but it was nice communicating with the outside world if only for a few minutes. LOVE YOU ALL!

Hey Everyone this is Karenna and Leanna!
We are also enjoying the scavenger hunt in Chiang Mai. Today we have been wondering the streets of old Chiang Mai and exploring getting great food, and working with the language barriers. So far Thailand has been pretty incredible and beautiful, not to mentions VERY hot!We are staying at a great guest house with wonderful cold showers and fans to keep us cool. Getting here was quite the journey in itself as we were on a plane for basically 40 hours and when we finally arrive in Chaing Mai we find out our bags are lost! But luckily they arrived the next morning and everyone has never been more excited to have a shower! The last couple days we have been eating AMAZING authentic thai food like mango sticky rice and pad thai, I dont see how we will ever want American food again. We have all been amazed at how different thailand is compared to America right down to the sidewalks and their form of taxis called “tuk tuks”. Everything is new and exciting and we cant wait to see what else this trip has in stores for us!
